Carnival Luminosa and Carnival Miracle: Baltimore program 2028/29
04/11/2026
Carnival Cruise Line opened bookings on October 29, 2026, for its 2028/29 season from Baltimore. The plans feature Carnival Miracle and Carnival Luminosa. Luminosa’s additional deployment is set to begin in November 2028, following a shipyard stay. The program runs through April 2029 and includes sailings of six to 14 days. For travelers along the U.S. Mid-Atlantic coast, the announcement means more sailings departing directly from Baltimore, without first having to travel to another homeport for these cruises.
Luminosa combines the Bahamas and Southern Caribbean
Luminosa is scheduled to operate seven- to 14-day sailings from Baltimore. Carnival lists the Bahamas for seven- and eight-day cruises, and the Eastern Caribbean for nine-day sailings. The longer Carnival Journeys cruises are set to last 12 or 14 days and venture farther into the Southern Caribbean. Possible ports listed by Carnival include Aruba, Curaçao, Barbados, Martinique, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St. Croix, St. Maarten, and St. Thomas.
This creates a clear range of options based on the time available: shorter sailings focus on nearby island destinations, while the longest itineraries also reach the Southern Caribbean. Carnival lists a total of 22 destinations across the Baltimore programs for both ships. The specific port sequence varies by sailing. The announcement brings together several itineraries.
Miracle adds shorter and longer sailings
Carnival Miracle is scheduled to sail from Baltimore between September 2028 and April 2029. The offerings include the Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada and New England, as well as the Eastern and Southern Caribbean. Carnival says six- to eight-day cruises will visit destinations including the Bahamas or Bermuda. Nine-day sailings are set to call at destinations such as Amber Cove, San Juan, and St. Maarten or St. Thomas.
Carnival also plans eight longer Carnival Journeys cruises of 12 to 14 days. They are set to link destinations in the Eastern and Southern Caribbean, including Antigua, Aruba, Barbados, Bonaire, Dominica, Martinique, and Tortola. Two eight-day Canada–New England cruises are announced for September 2028, with Portland, Maine; Halifax, Nova Scotia; and Saint John, New Brunswick, among the ports listed. This gives guests several types of trips to choose from: short island cruises, longer Caribbean voyages, and seasonal itineraries along the North American Atlantic coast.
Luminosa’s move is planned for 2028
The Baltimore announcement follows Carnival’s earlier notice of Luminosa’s farewell voyage from Australia. A 23-day cruise from Sydney to Los Angeles via Hawaii and French Polynesia is scheduled for March 15, 2028. The new Baltimore program marks a later deployment: Carnival plans for the ship to debut there in November 2028, after a shipyard period. Taken together, the announcements outline a planned sequence: Luminosa is expected to leave Australia in 2028 and, after a shipyard stay, begin sailing from Baltimore later that year.
The season dates are especially important for planning. Miracle is due to enter service in September 2028, while Luminosa is not scheduled to arrive until November. Carnival says the sailings are now open for booking and will run through April 2029.
