Royal Princess adds 20 staterooms and new onboard spaces

04/11/2026

Royal Princess completed its dry dock in Singapore on October 30. Princess Cruises reports that the ship now has 20 additional staterooms and several changes to its restaurants, lounges and shops. The ship, which entered service in 2013, now offers an updated onboard experience and is scheduled to sail to Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific in the 2026/27 season.

Twenty staterooms in four categories

The new staterooms comprise six mini-suites, seven oceanview staterooms, two interior staterooms and five solo interior staterooms. The five solo staterooms are particularly suited to travelers who want a private cabin of their own. They add a distinct stateroom type to the range of accommodations; availability in a particular category depends on the voyage and selected dates.

The public spaces have also been reorganized. On Deck 6, a dedicated Sanctuary restaurant has opened next to Concerto restaurant. On Deck 5, O’Malley’s Irish Pub replaces the former Vines Bar. Bellini’s has expanded into the space previously occupied by the Photo Gallery. The staircase between Decks 6 and 7 has been removed from the casino. The ship also has a refreshed Effy boutique; according to Princess, Starboard is taking over as its onboard retail partner. These changes affect different aspects of life on board, from dinner and a pub visit to shopping and downtime between port calls.

Sanctuary Collection launches in stages

A key part of the refurbishment is the Sanctuary Collection. Its new restaurant is already part of the revamped offering. According to Princess, the Sanctuary Club will join the Collection on April 22, 2027. Until then, guests aged 16 and over can preview the experience in the existing Retreat Pool and Sanctuary area. This gives travelers a clear transition: first, a preview in the current space, followed by the Sanctuary Club as part of the Collection from the launch date.

Refurbishment ahead of the Australia season

According to the company, the dry dock ran from October 16 to 30. For the 2026/27 season, Princess plans voyages from Sydney to Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific. The timing links the refurbishment in Singapore with the ship’s next seasonal deployment. For guests, the changes mainly reshape the onboard experience: the range of staterooms has grown, and several familiar gathering spots have been given new purposes or expanded offerings.
