SHIP OVERVIEW

The A-ROSA BELLA is a Danube river ship operated by A-ROSA River Cruises. Built in 2002 at the Neptun Werft shipyard in WarnemĂĽnde, the BELLA is 124.5 meters long and 14.4 meters wide. It has 100 outside cabins accommodating up to 242 guests.

Sun Deck and Onboard Leisure

The sun deck combines an outdoor pool with shuffleboard and a putting green. An open terrace at the stern adds outdoor seating to the indoor spaces, while the panorama lounge features a bar and dance floor. A-ROSA positions the BELLA as a family holiday ship. The pool, outdoor games and shared lounges are key features of its onboard offering.

Live Cooking and Cabins with French Balconies

Dining focuses on buffets and live cooking, with regional and seasonal dishes. Guests can choose their own table during meal times. Weather permitting, a barbecue on deck is also available. A-ROSA lists a served four-course dinner as an optional extra.

All cabins are outside cabins. In category C, the window can be opened onto a French balcony; other cabin categories have panoramic or fixed windows. The official ship information lists 14.5 m² outside cabins in category S, 15.5 m² cabins in categories A and A3, and 16.5 m² category B cabins with panoramic windows; category A3 has an additional bed. The cabins therefore differ not only in size, but also in window type and occupancy.

For passengers with reduced mobility, one point to note is that the A-ROSA deck plan shows stairs connecting the decks.

Cruising Area and Embarkation

The A-ROSA BELLA sails the Danube between the Passau area, the Wachau Valley and the cities of Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest. A-ROSA names Passau as the starting point for its round trips. For the A-ROSA pier in Engelhartszell, Upper Austria, the operator describes a journey via Passau followed by a transfer to the ship.

Cruise Length and Longer City Stays

The BELLA’s 2027 programme includes four- and five-night round trips, as well as the nine-night “Danube Cities Panorama” itinerary. The cruises travel downstream toward Vienna and, depending on the route, as far as Budapest, before returning upstream. The longer itineraries combine additional stretches on the river with more time in the cities.

On the BELLA cruise from 24 June to 3 July 2027, a stay in Budapest is scheduled from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. the following day, and in Vienna from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. the following day. Both stays include an overnight stop and allow guests to visit the cities in the evening. These port times apply to this specific itinerary.

Flag and Home Port

The A-ROSA BELLA sails under the German flag and has Rostock as its home port. Its passenger cruises begin on the Danube in the Passau area.

The Danube Fleet Begins in 2002

The A-ROSA BELLA and her sister ship, the A-ROSA DONNA, launched the brand’s first Danube cruises in 2002. The BELLA was christened in Rostock on 5 April 2002 and then transported by cargo ship to the Black Sea before entering service on the Danube.
