SHIP OVERVIEW
The A-ROSA RIVA is a river cruise ship that sails on the Danube. Built in 2004 at the Neptun Werft shipyard in WarnemĂĽnde, it sails under the Swiss flag. The ship is 124.5 metres long and 14.4 metres wide; A-ROSA gives its speed as 24 km/h. According to the cruise line, it can accommodate a maximum of 242 guests in 100 outside cabins.
The cabins are divided into several categories. Category S outside cabins are located on Deck 1 and offer 14.5 square metres of space and a window. Category A comprises outside cabins with a window and an extra bed on Deck 1; they measure 15.5 square metres. Category B is located on Deck 3 and features a panoramic window in its 16.5 square metres of space. On Deck 2, Category C offers a 16-square-metre outside cabin with a French balcony. Listed amenities include air conditioning, a television, a safe and a private bathroom with a shower and toilet.
The sun deck features a heated swimming pool, sun loungers and parasols. A-ROSA also lists a day lounge, a café bar and a panorama lounge as places to relax on board. Other facilities include a buffet market restaurant with live cooking, an outdoor dining area, a lounge bar and the A-ROSA Stüberl. A Finnish sauna, massage and beauty treatments, and a fitness area round out the amenities. Outside, there is also shuffleboard, an area for mini golf and putting, and a mobile bar with a barbecue station.
The RIVA is intended for Danube cruises operated by A-ROSA. Major cities such as Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest lie along the Danube, as do smaller towns and scenic stretches of the river. For embarkation in Passau, the Donaulände is located on the riverbank. Depending on the itinerary, time ashore alternates with longer stretches of sailing; the journey itself offers views of riverside towns and landscapes.
According to the cruise line, German is the language spoken on board, with English-speaking assistance and materials also available. The onboard currency is the euro; the cabin card serves as an onboard credit card during the cruise.
