SHIP OVERVIEW

Mein Schiff 3 is a German-language cruise ship operated by TUI Cruises. Its distinctive onboard spaces include the Klanghaus concert hall and the glass stern façade known as the Diamant.
Mein Schiff 3 was built at the Finnish shipyard in Turku and handed over to TUI Cruises in 2014. It was the first of four structurally similar cruise ships in the Blue Motion series. The shipyard built one vessel in the series each year from 2014 to 2017; Mein Schiff 4, Mein Schiff 5 and Mein Schiff 6 followed Mein Schiff 3. The ships share the same basic design, although the layouts of their cabins, bars and restaurants differ slightly.
The differences are particularly apparent in Mein Schiff 3’s Klanghaus: this concert venue is a distinctive feature of the ship, while its younger sister ships were fitted with the Studio, featuring a holographic stage.
The operator lists a range of categories, from interior and ocean-view cabins to balcony cabins, family cabins and suites. Veranda, combination and SPA balcony cabins are also included in the overview. According to the shipyard, most cabins on the Blue Motion ships are located on the outside of the vessel, allowing around 90 percent of the approximately 2,500 passengers to enjoy a sea view.
TUI Cruises describes interior cabins for up to four people and a family ocean-view cabin for up to six. The Himmel & Meer Suite spans two decks and has its own roof terrace.
Ocean-view cabins have a panoramic window, while balcony cabins come with a private balcony. The Premium Veranda Cabin offers a veranda with a hammock or deck chair. These different outdoor spaces further distinguish the categories from interior cabins.
Key features include the 25-metre outdoor pool and the Klanghaus, which hosts concerts. At the stern is the Diamant, a bright glass façade spanning two decks. Other highlights include a 280-metre running track and the viewing point known as the Blue Balcony, which Meyer Turku says is located 37 metres above the sea.
TUI lists nine restaurants and bistros, as well as 15 bars and lounges, aboard Mein Schiff 3.
For the winter 2026/27 programme, voyages aboard Mein Schiff 3 from Bremerhaven and Kiel to Norway, the Baltic Sea, the Canary Islands and the Caribbean had been published. These departure ports are part of the respective itineraries; the ship is registered in Malta, with Valletta as its port of registry. The port of registry should therefore be distinguished from the ports where individual cruises begin and end.
On 25 October 2026, Mein Schiff 3 collided with two moored container ships while leaving Bremerhaven. TUI Cruises cancelled the subsequent Canary Islands voyage; after a technical inspection, the ship needed repairs at a shipyard. According to TUI Cruises’ official statement of 29 October 2026 at 6 p.m., the ship was expected to move to the quay at Lloyd Werft in Bremerhaven on Sunday, 1 November. The collision affected lifesaving equipment; before another voyage, the required lifesaving capacity for everyone on board must be restored. The cruise line expects to have clarity about possible effects on subsequent voyages early the following week. In parallel, the Federal Bureau of Maritime Casualty Investigation is examining the sequence of events to help prevent future accidents; the police are conducting a separate regulatory review. The full report on the collision and shipyard repairs explains the immediate impact on the voyage.
