The best cruise industry developments in 2011


The well-known cruise, ports and cruise ship portal cruisecritic.com summed up the 2011 year naming the best of the best in dozens of nominations of its annual award Cruise Critic Editors' Picks Awards.

American cruise industry continues to define the fashion of the modern voyage market. It is evidenced by a number of awards that professionals of the portal given to the U.S. liners and ports.

In the "Best new liner" nomination was awarded the new Disney Dream ship, which also received awards for the best standard cabin and best inner cabin.

In the nomination "Price-quality" the prize went to the second largest cruise operator Peace Carnival Cruise Lines. Carnival also received the award for the best cruise bar. High appreciation earned the concept of bars on board of the Red Frog Pub ships.

The prize for the Best family cruises this year won the Royal Caribbean.

Celebrity Cruises has once again confirmed its reputation as a cruise operator with one of the best ship restaurants in the world. Cruise critics awarded Celebrity Cruises with prize for the Best lunch, the Best alternative restaurant, the Best wine connoisseur cruise and the Best Wellness Cruise.

2011 was the year of return New Orleans into the list of the best ports. The portal cruisecritic.com called New Orleans the Best U.S. cruise port.
