Oceania Cruises: new liner in Barcelona

Oceania Cruises company presented its new Riviera ship on May 11, 2012 in Barcelona. The ceremony of launching the ship, which was attended by the founder of Oceania Cruises Frank Del Rio, was confidential and available only on special invitations.

The ceremony gained a special status due to the famous guests, who gathered at the port of Barcelona. Among them were the Mayor of Barcelona Xavier Trias, and the president of the Barcelona port Sixte Cambra.

It is not accidental that the company has selected the port of Barcelona for the presentation. In 2003 Oceania Cruises presented here its first ship Regatta.

Riviera cruise liner is the analogue of an existing ship Marina launched in 2010. Riviera was built on one of the largest cruise shipyards of the world - Fincantieri (Italy). It has the displacement of 66 thousand tons and can receive up to 1,250 passengers.

Riviera liner is a "premium" class ship. On this luxurious vessel is located culinary center Bon Appétit, spa club Canyon Ranch SpaClub, as well as several unique cabins, including suites, whose interior was developed by well-known fashion designers Ralph Lauren and Dakota Jackson. Oceania Cruises is a company that has earned the reputation of one of the best gastronomic lines in the world. Riviera once again proves this statement and offers its passengers in total 10 different facilities, including gourmet restaurants and special La Reserve tasting room with a rich collection of wines.

Riviera will start its first cruise after the ceremony on May 16, 2012 in Venice. The ten-day voyage across the Mediterranean will finish in Athens. Riviera will stay in the Mediterranean until November 29, 2012. During this time the ship will perform about 20 cruises, during which its passengers will be able to see ports of France, Portugal, Italy, Spain, Greece, Israel, Monaco and other countries. At the end of the cruise season in the Mediterranean Sea the ship will go to Miami and serve cruises to the Panama Canal.
