Lisbon (Portugal): cruises online. Cruise routes from Lisbon, cruises to Lisbon

Today it is the capital of Portugal and one of the oldest cities in Europe. Lisbon is rich in architectural monuments. The Portuguese capital also has a varied and interesting cultural scene with theatre performances, concerts and exhibitions. "Bairro Alto" (the upper city) is well known for its nightlife. Sights include: Jerónimo's Monastery, Belém Tower, the Monument to the Discoveries, Comércio Square, São Jorge castle, and "Baixa Pombalina". .

Lisbon is a cruise port, where dozens of ships depart for popular Mediterranean cruises, transatlantic liners start their voyages and where five centuries ago went on long trips legendary explorers led by Vasco da Gama.

Lisbon is one of the most beautiful cruise ports in the world. Cruise ships can reach it from the Atlantic Ocean passing the 15-kilometer route from the mouth of the river Tejo (in Spanish - Tajo). During this journey tourist can see all three symbolic attractions of the Portuguese capital the famous Tower of Belem, the Monument of Discoveries and the statue of Christ, which famous analogue stands in Rio de Janeiro.

Lisbon cruise port includes Alcantara and Santa Apolonia terminals. Santa Apolonia is closer to the historical center of the Portuguese capital. Another terminal is "Tobacco port" (Jardim do Tabaco) will be opened in 2013 after renovation and merged with Santa Apolonia.

To date Lisbon cruise port is one of the largest in the world. Each year its terminals serve more than 500 thousand passengers, who travel on more than 300 cruise ships.

Alcantara terminal accounts for the largest number of cruises from Lisbon and arrivals to Lisbon. It is located about five kilometers from the city center, near the biggest bridge over the river Tagus. Near the port moorings can be found several floating restaurants and tourist offices.

Tours along Lisbon can be booked at a special red (Alcantara) or a blue (Santa Apolonia) lines at the terminals. All tours are served by red buses without roof (the so-called Hop-on-hop-off tour).

Taxi is a simple and convenient way to get to the city center. A fair price of a trip by taxi from the cruise port to Baixa, one of the most popular shopping areas in Lisbon, is no more than 6-10 Euros.

One of the most exciting and popular options to explore Lisbon is a tour on the old wooden trams, which deliver tourists to the historic districts of the Portuguese capital called Alfama and Belem.
