Discover Mövenpick Radamis
History and Nile Cruises
The HS Radamis was Mövenpick’s first cruise ship. Construction began in 1990, and the ship was completed and made its first Nile voyage in 1991. Its maiden voyage ran between Aswan and Luxor. According to the operator’s chronology, the ship was launched in 1990. In 2005, Mövenpick’s first ship was called Radamis I; the same name was also used in 2009/2010. A comprehensive refurbishment was carried out in 2022.
At around 72 metres long, the ship historically had 72 Deluxe Cabins and four suites. Panoramic windows spanned the width of the cabin wall, offering views of the Nile even from the bed. Cabin amenities included a bathroom with a bathtub, individually controlled air conditioning, music and video channels, a minibar, a hairdryer and shaver sockets. Eight cabins could be interconnected, for example to accommodate families together.
The ship’s former layout included 16 cabins on lower Deck A and 26 on Main Deck B. Deck C had 16 cabins, while Deck D housed 14 cabins and the restaurant. The historical onboard facilities also included the Sultan’s Bar, shops, a hair salon and a disco or lounge. The sundeck offered a pool, a bar and a snack area. A fitness room, massage services, laundry, dry cleaning and a reception desk staffed around the clock completed the facilities.
