Wadi Darbat
Die Wadis im Oman bilden ein einzigartiges Umweltsystem, das sich durch die Vielfalt der Natur auszeichnet. An den Ufern der Wadis in Oman fanden Menschen seit Tausenden von Jahren einen fruchtbaren Lebensraum. Der (im Sommer oft ausgetrocknete) Flusslauf des Wadi Darbats liegt im Verwaltungsbezirk Dhofar und gräbt sich durch das Hochland, bis es in Khor Rori ins Arabische Meer mündet. Im Herbst und Winter verwandeln sich die aus den Bergen strömenden Gewässer des Wadis in wunderbare Wasserfälle, die sich aus einer Höhe von rund 30 Metern ergießen. Das Wadi zeichnet sich durch eine unberührte Natur, eine dichte Vegetation sowie eine natürliche Wasserquelle und zahlreiche Höhlen aus. Ferner füllt das Wasser des Wadis die Teeq Höhle. Wer sich dieses eindrucksvolle Naturerlebnis nicht entgehen lassen möchte, erreicht das Wadi mit dem Taxi in ca. 60 Minuten.
