Visit to a farm: Estancia La Quebrada del Castillo
A short panoramic trip through Punta del Este, before continuing to Punta Ballena, an interesting cliff formation which juts out into the sea. A photo stop at the Villa Casapueblo, before continuing to the 400 hectare Estancia La Quebrada del Castillo close to Piriapolis, which specialises in the breeding of horses and cattle. Tour of the farm, with the optional extras of a horse ride, milking a cow, riding in a carriage or watching the gauchos as they work. In the afternoon a classical tea will be served with biscuits, followed by the return to Punta del Este.
Punta del Este
The tour takes in Golero Avenue, the main street of Punta del Este, Great Britain Square and the best-known beaches, Playa Brava, Playa Mansa and El Emir. A visit to the elegant residential districts of San Rafael, Cantegril, Parque Golf and Beverly Hills. Outside the city, the bridge over the Maldonada River is especially worth seeing. The return trip takes in the pine-fringed roads via Portezuelo to Punta Ballena, an interesting cliff formation which juts out into the sea. This is where the famous artist Carlos Paez Vilarò has his residence and his Casapueblo studio, to which a short visit will be made before returning to the ship.
