Seafood - the main attraction of Anguilla in April

Seafood festival on Anguilla

In the eastern part of the Caribbean Sea is located one of the most prestigious and luxurious Caribbean resorts - the island of Anguilla. This first-class resort is quite popular among celebrities all over the world due to a very strict privacy policy. Reporters and paparazzi are not in favor here.

That’s why Anguilla has earned the reputation of one of the few places on the planet, where guests are guaranteed calm relaxation and comfortable staying. It distinguishes this Caribbean resort from Côte d'Azur or Swiss Alps, where the quality of holiday services is high, but all guests are constantly under journalist and fan pressure.

However, once a year people from all over the world come to Anguilla not for a relaxing holiday. On 7 and 8 April 2012 on the island is held the Sea Festival (Festival Del Mar), which main theme is seafood and all sorts of delicacies. It is not surprising as another source of income for the Anguilla residents is export of lobsters and langoustes. Therefore, gourmets from all over the world come to the resort and they are not afraid of high hotel room prices as the cost of seafood here is dozen times lower.

The main events of the festival will take place in the main bay of the island – Shoel Bay East, where on the coast are exhibited a lot of stalls and open kitchens, where you can taste different fish dishes and shellfish caught in the morning. In the bay will be held a parade of decorated fishing schooners, while in the evening - a grandiose firework.

Anguilla is an ideal place for diving. In the 1980s in the coastal areas of the island were scuttled several ships, including old frigates. And given the extraordinary crystal cleanliness of the water it becomes clear, why scuba diving and deep sea fishing is one of the most popular entertainments on the island.
