The capital of Northern Ireland Belfast got another striking landmark. In late March here was opened a unique Titanic Belfast museum, where tourists can visit the exposition entirely dedicated to the legendary ship.

As it is known, the centenary of the Titanic crash is marked in 2012. A number of different activities are dedicated to this date throughout the world. Among them are cruises in the memory of Titanic on the ships from Azamara and Fred Olsen, as well as the world premiere of the Titanic blockbuster in 3D.

The total area of exposition in the Titanic Belfast museum is 14 000 square meters. The museum itself consists of four ship hulls joined into a single architectural complex, which height is the same as Titanic. It was decided to create the museum in the docks, where the legendary ship had been build.

The museum exposition is located in 9 rooms, each of which tells about different periods of the Titanic history. Among the central exhibits of the museum is the Grand Staircase of the Titanic restored in full accordance with the original.

In addition to the exhibition Titanic Belfast museum has several other historical parallels with the legendary ship. Like Titanic it had been created for three years. And its capacity is 3547 visitors - similar to the maximum number of passengers of the famous liner.

The museum creators expect tourism success of the idea. According to preliminary estimates, the number of guests, who are expected to visit the museum in 2012, is 400 thousand people, 105 thousand of whom are foreigners.
