Nidaros Cathedral and Ringve Museum
En route to the Ringve museum the participants have another opportunity to look over the city. Trondheim has wide streets and beautiful wooden buildings built after 1681. The old trading houses along the river bank are painted in bright colours. The old bridge also helps to give the city its charm. The Ringve museum is located in the world's northernmost botanical garden and is the only museum in the whole of Norway which specialises in musical instruments. The museum staff who introduce the guests to more than 2000 instruments are all music students.
Lökken mine and museum railway
The tour takes the participants through the city centre, past the marketplace to the cathedral of Nidaros. It's then onwards, further along the coast of the Trondheim fjord, the third-largest in Norway. There follows a railway trip through the unique landscape. The train was used to convey passengers as early as 1908; since 1983 it is only been used as a museum piece. After the historic train journey the trip continues to an old mine, which was in operation between 1654 and 1987. A coach trip in the direction of Svorkmo, past Lake Svark and agricultural land. Return to the ship.
