ValparaÃso and Viña del Mar
Panoramic trip through the twin cities of ValparaÃso/Viña del Mar with an ascent of one of the small hills on which the city is built, with fantastic views of the city. The trip then continues through the business and banking district of ValparaÃso to Viña del Mar, which is directly adjacent to ValparaÃso to the north. There follows a drive along the coastal road to the extensive beaches, followed by a return to Viña del Mar with a visit to the Fonck museum. There will also be a brief opportunity to stroll through the shopping zone of San Cristobal.
Isla Negra & the home of Pablo Neruda
An excursion aimed at art and nature lovers, combining the picturesque beauty of Chile with the extraordinary legacy of the world famous poet Pablo Neruda (Nobel Prize 1971). There is a visit to the Isla Negra, former residence of Pablo Neruda, which has been converted into a museum and now houses a collection of many of the poet's personal possessions. After a typical Chilean lunch in a local restaurant with sea views, the tour continues to Valparaiso, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the bay, the centre and the bordering hills. Note: due to the limited number of standing places in the Neruda museum, the visit will be made in small groups.
Santiago de Chile
120 km long motorway trip to Santiago de Chile with a visit to the Barrio Histórico (historical district), Moneda (presidential palace), the Museo Chileno de Arte Precolumbiano, the Plaza de Armas, the Iglesia Catedral, the City Hall and the equestrian statue of the founder of the city, Pedro de Valdivia. The trip then continues by coach to the city mountain Cerro de San Cristobal, which towers over the city of Santiago, with its 22 m high steel statue of the Virgin Mary. After lunch a visit to the upper town, where the participants will visit the artisanal village of Lo Dominicosa, located at the foot of the Andes mountain range. Before returning to ValparaÃso there will be an opportunity to stroll around and buy souvenirs. Lunch is included in the price.
