Miltenberg Cruise Port: Landing Stages on the Main and the Old Town
Miltenberg on the Main: cruise landing stages at Mainzer Tor and on Jahnstraße, the half-timbered old town, the Schnatterloch and the railway station on the opposite bank.
Miltenberg lies on the River Main between the wooded heights of the Spessart and Odenwald ranges. Two landing stages are designated for river cruises: one at Mainzer Tor and one on Jahnstraße. Both are on the old-town side of the river. The confirmed landing stage for your booked trip is the one that matters.
Landing stages and the old town
The old town lies south of the Main. From the landing stage at Mainzer Tor, the walk leads into the western part of the old town; the Jahnstraße landing stage is farther east, beyond the Main Bridge. The town map shows the two river cruise landing stages separately from the landing stage used by the Weiße Flotte. This is an important point of orientation for visitors: a listing for the Weiße Flotte does not automatically indicate where a river cruise ship will dock.
In the historic centre, narrow lanes, half-timbered houses and the market square with the Schnatterloch form a continuous walking route. The Schnatterloch is in the western part of the old town. Visitors arriving at Jahnstraße reach this area from the east, while the route from the Mainzer Tor landing stage starts closer to the western edge of the old town.
Railway station and the River Main landscape
Miltenberg railway station is on the opposite, northern bank of the Main. The municipal map shows the route across the Main Bridge and marks a bus connection near the station approach. The station and the old-town riverbank are therefore two separate reference points, divided by the river. The official tourism information lists rail connections via Aschaffenburg and Wertheim, as well as via Seckach. The station on Brückenstraße is thus the main rail access point on the opposite side of the river from the two cruise landing stages.
Miltenberg is part of the Drei am Main tourism region, which also includes Bürgstadt and Kleinheubach. The name refers to their shared location on the river, with the Spessart and Odenwald framing the Main valley. A longer stay can therefore combine a visit to the port with a walk through town and views of the surrounding landscape, taking in the half-timbered old town, the riverbank and the wooded heights.
The overview of cruise ports in Germany covers more stops on rivers and coasts. The guide to river cruises describes this type of travel, while the port directory lists the countries with ports.
